very cool
Manuscript about SEAL Platoon in Vietnam – - – Patrick, first off Lone Survivor was wonderful. I am also a former Navy SEAL, out of SEAL Team One during the Vietnam era. I was one of the original members of X-Ray Platoon and 1 of 3 of the original members that completed that tour of duty and came home together. The platoon had its Platoon Commander Lt. Michael Collins killed in action, the Assistant Platoon Commander Frank Bomar killed in action (this was Franks 7 trip to Vietnam as a Navy SEAL), 2 other teammember were also killed in action with the rest of the platoon members being wounded 2 to 3 each. I have a manuscript before The Naval Institute Press at present time, but I would like to see if you would be interested in looking at it. Retired 3 Star Admiral Raymond Smith has agreeded to do the introduction and retired Commander Joe DeFloria has already written a forward as well. The book is about the combat and deaths and about the problems and memories of ghost that I have lived with for the past 40 years. All of the surviving teammembers have read the manuscript and agree with it.

Dear Patrick Robinson:
We’re taking matters into our own hands here at the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library…and we’re hoping you can help.
As an author and a reader I’m sure you are aware of the recent cuts in library funding. Our library excels at providing resources and programs that enhance the lives of our patrons and broadens the horizons of our community. The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Foundation supports the library’s ability to serve our community with additional funding for the library.
This July, we are having our fourth annual Silent Book Auction fund-raiser sponsored by the Stow-Munroe Falls Library Foundation Board. We are asking you, as one of our most popular authors, to donate an autographed copy of a book to be auctioned during that event. It would be highlighted as a featured item, and previewed in advertising for the event.
We received many contributions from authors in the previous three years and these created very successful auctions. We sincerely believe that a contribution from you would greatly help us this year.
Would you please send an autographed copy of your book to:

I can not tell you how honored we would be to receive such a gift. Please accept our sincere thank you for helping us help the patrons of the Stow-Munroe Falls community.

Love your books. Great plots and stories. But just a couple nitnoids on military accuracy. Only Navy personnel can become Seals, no marines. A US submarine is never referred to as a ship, it is always called a boat. The Navy has no Galaxy aircraft. They are all owned by the Air Force. Minor items they can bother an old retired military officer.
I have just finished reading HUNTER KILLER.
I was waiting in the emergency department of Calgary’s Foothills Hospital to see a Dr about swelling legs. I went in at around 2 p.m. and finally left at 10:30 p.m. after some tests but no results. I was scared. The place was full of street people, police, paramedics. I was left in a narrow corridor in one of those wonderful hospital gowns until I couldn’t take it any more.
I read all 453 pages of the hard cover edition during that time.
I was glad to have the book because it took me away from my circumstances.
I enjoyed the book and the thought of the events really happening brought intrigue to my reality.
I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. A very oil-rich place. The reserves of liquid oil and those in the tar sands are far greater than those of Saudi Arabia.
This irritated me to the point that I wrote BULL! in the column on page 318.
Other than that irritation, I enjoyed your work.

Have had on order a copy of ”To The Death” since September 2009 on asking where it had got to, I was told It was out of print. How can a book that was first published in 2008 be out of print??? I was looking forward to reading the final story in the ”Arnold Morgan” serie’s
I have just finished Barracuda 945….I would have thought that you were a right-wing republican rather than a Brit.As a former “Sea Spy” I can forgive your lack of knowledge and understanding of SOSUS.but somethings you should have gotten right with basic research. The station in south Wales is NavFac Brawdy ,about 15 miles from Haverfordwest. You can see the old building an go inside it’s a business park now.See if Mac down at the Duke in Newgale still has the Pool table he brought in for us Yanks. You can ask the Royal College of Heraldry to see the only crest approved by them for a military organization. How could you confuse a TU-22 Blinder with a TU-95 Bear? Dear Mr. Robinson,
I’ve read all of your books and really enjoyed them. Now I’m looking forward to your oncoming work “INTERCEPTOR”, for which Amazon (US) accept pre-orders (without saying when it will be released).
I’m in Italy and I’ve bought an Amazon’z Kindle just to take the advantage into having the books which I love into their original language as soon and as close to their real cost as possible (by cutting away the shipping costs which, through the Kindle’s “whispering” deliver, it falls down to an acceptable 2 US$).
My first question on INTERCEPTOR is: THERE WILL BE A KINDLE EDITION OF IT?
If the answer is NO, then the second one is: IS THIS A CHOICE OF YOUR PUBLISHER POLICY?
And finally, if the answer to my last question as above would eventually be a YES: WHY THAT POLICY?
Thanks in advance for a reply and, in any case, many congratulations for your writing.
Regards.
Roberto
I have often heard it said that to be a successful writer, write about what you know. Well, that may work most of the time. The book “Ghost Force” comes to mind. An interesting tale, no doubt. But how much better would it have been witout the term “Action Stations” on a US Navy ship (it’s a British term). When placing the C-4 charges on the A-4 Skyhawks, it would have been better if had you known that the A-4 is a SINGLE engined aircraft, and not a multi-engine strike platform. On a similar note, in the final chapter, he uses a “Super Cobra” helicopter to transport our heroes; the Cobra is only a 2-place gunship…
Plus, having the lead character in a “private cabin” in the mission helicopter, well, it just doesn’t exist. Finally, a full hour to place 4 blocks of composition C-4? ? ? Were the SEALS all crippled and in wheelchairs? I’m sure the Teams had a good chuckle over that.
Anyway, it was still a fun read, and yes, I will buy more.

What is your background to write about the topics that you do?
Hi Patrick,
love the books, i discovered your books after picking up a copy of Ghost Force, after reading it, i went out and got all your books and read them all from the start of the series. im now nearing the end of Hunter Killer and went to my local waterstones in Glasgow city centre to buy a copy of To The Death. i couldnt believe my ears when the shop assistant told me it wasnt licensed for sale here in the UK. i have Diamondhead on pre order from Waterstones online which i think is due according to them in May, but im now not going to be able to read it as i cant get To The death. I am quite disapointed that a british authors works are available in the states before the UK.
Please give me some good news and tell me its coming out in the UK soon and also when is the new Intercept going to be available here ?
keep up the great work

Dear Sir,
Although discovering you only a short few weeks ago, Ihave already purchased 5 of your books and am on the lookout for more. I am just finishing up Scimitar SL-2 and am trying to read this series in order as best as I can. I have found very few discrepancies, but as a 33-year retired Veteran, those I do find stick out to me. The AH-1Z Super Cobra is still a 2-person helicopter and I beleive you meant to idnetify the UH-1Y Super Huey and the multi-personnel carrying Marine helicopter. Also, our Navy does not have an Ensign Junior Grade; the Ensign is the lowest commissioned grade in the Navy. I have thoroughly enjoyed the books so far and have worked for Admiral Arnold Morgan-like individuals in my career. Besides Scimitar SL-2, I currently own USS Seawolf, HMS Unseen, Kilo Class and Nimitz Class and will be hitting my local bookstores this week for more. I plan to maintain your books in my permanent collection as I can see myrereading them as the years go on. Thank you for your wonderful imagination and exhaustive research and I look forward to many more hours of enjoyment.
Respectfully,
Craig Bergman, CMSgt, USAF (retired)
Hello,
Are these books going to be translated into French?
Scimitar SL-2
Hunter Killer
Ghost Force
Lone Survivor and the novel ” intercept” ?
If yes, when?
Thank you.
Like your books, Patrick, but must take you to task on geography. In your ‘Barracuda 945′, which I’ve just enjoyed, the map on page 316 of the Harper paperback showing Alaska & The Northwest – ‘Barracuda’s principal target area, Vancouver Island is connected to the mainland – wrong, that’s why it’s called Vancouver Island and the US boundary is shown passing thru the lower portion of said Island. The boundary actually jogs south thru the straight & out to sea.
Other than those glaring ,to my local eyes, errors I enjoyed the book as I have several others & will look for the ‘Scimitar SL-2′ book. You really don’t like ex presidents Carter & Clinton, do you ? I agree – they were not the best .
Thanks for the hours of reading enjoyment.

Read Lone Survivor and should be required reading in High School, too many buy into this regimes doctrine that if things dont change soon it may be hard to keep our freedom ringing!
Love you books – have read them all. Would like to read Intercept on my iPad – either Amazon Kindle format or Apple iBook format. Any plans for publishing as an e-book?
Patrick,
See you soon!
Saw your new book promoted on Glenn Beck’s email newsletter…that should give you pop. Of course, Glenn has become a good friend of Marcus’ (in fact, Marcus was on his radio show this morning). This website is pretty cool for you Patrick – a guy who doesn’t even do email
And to Eric Pottle above who is trying to get an out of print book – I suggest that you go to Amazon and you do the look up, you will see “also available from other resellers” and you should be able to find it either new or used.
Cheers…
Patrick,
Great books. Just one complaint about Intercept. On pages 112 and 133, you refer to the SIG-Sauer 9mm ‘service revolver’. SIG/Sauer does not make a revolver. These may be ‘service’ or ‘duty’ pistols or weapons, but not revolvers. Otherwise great book. Just get onto your editor for missing the F in flashlight on page 258. I enjoy your books, and look forward to the next one.As usual, you have characters who are human, and great warriors as well.
Keep up the fantastic work!!!

Hi Pat,
I love your books and devour them as soon as they arrive at the bookstore. I’ve collected them all and proudly display them all in MY bookshelf. As an ex U.S. Navy “Spook” I enjoy the intrigue but I don’t give a whit about the minor discrepancies. The only author I know that is perfect wrote “The Bible”. Thanks for your great story telling AND for the collaborative effort on Lone Survivor. It’s a great story about great men.
Dear Patrick,
Just finished INTERCEPT and as with all of your books, I enjoyed it. However, I was surprised at the number of typos (at least a half dozen that I noticed), something that a reader doesn’t expect to see in a book from a best-selling author. I think you need to have a chat with the folks over at Vanguard Press. In this day and age of SPELL CHECK, mistakes such as “thity” for “thirty” tend to detrack from an otherwise excellent read. Typos notwithstanding, keep ‘em coming!
Cheers, Dale.
Loved all of your books. Lone Survivor was tremendous. The Arnold Morgan series was “unputdownable”…query, will Intercept be available in ebook for the Barnes and Noble Nook?….I certainly hope so..many avid readers are now using electronic readers. I bought each of your books in hardback edition, but I am reading most novels in electronic form anymore…
Having recently retireed, I have a lot more time for a fovorite hobby, reading.Just read my first book authored by you, Intercept, and was impressed by your SEAL knowledge. Noticing you wrote “Lone Survivivor”, my next book, I see you were well informed. Your weaponcraft was pretty good throughout the book “But” pg 133 stated “He loaded a magazine into his SIG-Sauer service revolver…” Sig pistols are all semi-automatic pistols, not revolvers. (Glad to see you do not confuse “clips” as so many authors do, with magazines.) I’ve been blessed with SEALs in a couple of my training classes. They were becoming future unit instructors for ST5 in SD.. I was a humble student.
Your keen eyes in Bakersfield, Mike
Dear Mr. Robinson,
I’ve read almost all of your books and I enjoy to reach places of action through google maps when you write about latitude and longitude: I’m now at 51°21’05″ S, 59°27′ W, “watching” Rick Hunter” while he’s pointing the laser to drive the HALO launch (Ghost Force)!
I’m in Italy, Neaples.
Best regards
Hey, excellent blog page..I haven’t figured out tips on how to add your web site in my rss reader :\ where’s to link to the feed?
About five years ago, I picked up a book in a local bookshop simply because I noticed that the front cover had an endorsement by Jack Higgins, a novelist whose work I very much enjoy. That book was “Kilo Class” and was undoubtedly the most exciting military thriller I had ever read. I went on to read all of Patrick’s ‘Arnold Morgan’ series and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them.
Excellent stories for giving us a much better appreciation of the armed services that so honourably dedicate themselves to the protection of our nations.
‘Ghost Force’ I found fascinating because it taught me to consider the dark side of political manoeuvring in our world – the kind that led to the invasion of the Falklands again, in the book. I must admit I also have to agree with Patrick’s take on much of the wishy-washy, liberal politics that the UK has had to endure over this past thirteen years where celebrity is now lauded over dedicated service and society has become so much more superficial.
Today I finished reading ‘DiamondHead’ – absolutely brilliant, perhaps with a touch of ‘Day of the Jackal’ (French Gaullist leader, assassin with apparently no real identity)? Very good for redressing the balance of the argument that says our military shouldn’t be in the Middle East – not all of us christians/clergy believe that it was wrong to go to war, when the safety of the world was being held to ransom by these fundamentalist extremists.
I’m looking forward to reading ‘Intercept’ but I can’t help wondering that if future stories revolve around ‘Mack’, will he be reinstated as a SEAL, or might they be looking back to his earlier career?
Thanks Patrick, your work is really appreciated.
Patrick,
I have just enjoyed reading HMS Unseen, one of your earlier books, from the list. I shall have to get a few more, as I enjoyed this example of your work. One thing though, you mention the USAF KC135, being a derivitive of the DC10 airframe. Being an old civil airline mechanic, these small inacuracies can be a thorn in the side.
To clarify, the KC135 was a derivitive of the Boeing 707, and later versions of the military version were retrofitted with CFM 56 engines from the original Pratt and Whitney JT3, the Douglas DC10, on the other hand, when used in the same military role as the KC135 was called a KC10.

I can’t tell you in words how much both my husband and I enjoy your suspense thrillers! Our only problem is that after finishing one book we are anxious about your next book and when it will arrive.
INTERCEPT is our WOW book for the year! As we say after each one, this last was the best!
Thank You.
I have greatly enjoyed your books after discovering them about two years ago. I just finished DIAMONDHEAD, and being from Maine, I think that you did a really commendable job of portraying the characters and the setting of my beloved home state. Also, being former military, I can appreciate the research and effort that has gone into the accurate representation of the various characters in your books. I have recommended (and forwarded) many of your books to my friends who have commented most favorably on your depictions and your ability to weave a great “yarn” with the best. All my best for the future. I will be looking forward to more from an outstanding writer.
Dear Mr. Patrick Robinson,
my name is Emanuele and l live in Italy. I was a lieutenant in the Italian army and I love your works! I read all the works he wrote and I am really fascinated by his ability to enunciation of events and places.
Sincerely yours and hope it continues forever to write books so compelling. Thanks to those who know what war means, but mainly those who love peace so much and knows what it costs to build and maintain over time.
Hello Patrick,
Candy and I had the privelege of taking care of tennis at Wianno for several years, and the pleasure of working with Suzanne, Kate, James, Ben, and Andy. During a recent re-hab from knee surgery, a former SEAL friend gave me “Lone Survivor”. Fantastic and powerful! The only problem was I could not put it down, a read it in one gulp. I hope you all are well, and enjoy the Cape! All the best to the “troops”, Tom
i still cant buy “to the death” here in the uk without having to go into a USA website and pay a fortune in shipping charges
can you sort out getting it released here in your homeland of the UK so we can read the final book in the arnold morgan series
Patrick
The Kindle copy of your new book “Intercept” was available on Amazon.com for a few weeks but is now showing as not available for US or UK customers. Do you know whether this is a temporary problem. Will it be available again anytime soon?
Regards
Leo
Hi
Can you please tell me if To The Death was ever released into the Irish/European market?I am have alot of difficulties trying to track down a new copy of it here in Dublin. Many Thanks Aidan ( a loyal & avid fan)
I have rear Interceptor and found it very hard to put he book down, and yet I was sorry when I got to the last page. This is the second Mark Bedford story that I have read, He is a great character, and I will look forward to his next adventure,Thanks for the story.
However, (there is always a caveat), on page 191 the third line up from the bottom, you said that the Muslim terrorists were eating a bacon sandwich.Eating pork is a nono in their religion. This is like the black dot on a white sheet. I still found the book very exciting.
Thanks for the pleasure that you have given me.
Irving Caplan.
Patrick
In Intercept, on two occasions you refer to Mac Bedford selecting a Sig Sauer revolver and a couple of magazines of ammo. Sig doesn’t make revolvers and revolvers do not use magazines. Your editors should have caught that.
However, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will read more of your previous Mac Bedford books.
Regards
Larry
Patrick
I was introduced to your books by my cousin a former Canadian Intelligence Officer who had worked with KGB, Mossad etc. Now being an Anglican Minister he still takes confessions but doesn’t have to caution them.
Thankyou so much for allowing me to enjoy such reading pleasure with your books. Starting back at the beginning from Nimitz Class to Intercept. I just read Slider a few days ago for the first time and loved it for not being a great baseball fan. It was the style of writing so familiar to me from all your other books. Its possible that Admiral Woodward and I could be related as my last name was Woodward. I will have to look into that more.
Looking forward to more reading pleasure
A loyal reader

Hi Patrick
Have just finished your new book “Intercept”, a really rattling good yarn, that I just could’nt put down. Till I got to the action at the end. Mack Bedford enters a Afgan village, that is sheltering known killers, blows up two house’s, shoots three villagers including the terriosts he was after and no-one came out to see what was going on? As Mack said these guys could hear a mouse fart at fifty yards. A far better ending to my way of thinking would have enter the village silenty, kill the terriosts without disturbing anyone else and leave a small USA flag in their hands to say that the “Great Satan” could strike even here and put the fear of God amongst them wondering where the next attack could take place. Otherwise great story, look forward to the next one.
Patrick,
Ever since I read HMS Unseen in 1999, followed by Nimitz Class and Kilo Class, you have been my favorite author.
I have just fininshed reading Diamondhead and what an emotional book – could not put it down. So well written and a brilliant plot, as usual.
You need to start writing more books (one a week would be good as one a day would probably be impossible even if you had the strength of Mack Bedford)!!!!
I wonder if Arnold Morgan could write one a week, staying up all the hours he did and eating beef sandwiches wahed down with coffee?
Anyway just wanted to say that I really loved the book – are you planning on any book signing as I would love my PR collection signed?
All the very best to you – I am already looking forward to Mack’s new adventure in Intercept.
