very cool
Manuscript about SEAL Platoon in Vietnam – - – Patrick, first off Lone Survivor was wonderful. I am also a former Navy SEAL, out of SEAL Team One during the Vietnam era. I was one of the original members of X-Ray Platoon and 1 of 3 of the original members that completed that tour of duty and came home together. The platoon had its Platoon Commander Lt. Michael Collins killed in action, the Assistant Platoon Commander Frank Bomar killed in action (this was Franks 7 trip to Vietnam as a Navy SEAL), 2 other teammember were also killed in action with the rest of the platoon members being wounded 2 to 3 each. I have a manuscript before The Naval Institute Press at present time, but I would like to see if you would be interested in looking at it. Retired 3 Star Admiral Raymond Smith has agreeded to do the introduction and retired Commander Joe DeFloria has already written a forward as well. The book is about the combat and deaths and about the problems and memories of ghost that I have lived with for the past 40 years. All of the surviving teammembers have read the manuscript and agree with it.

Dear Patrick Robinson:
We’re taking matters into our own hands here at the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library…and we’re hoping you can help.
As an author and a reader I’m sure you are aware of the recent cuts in library funding. Our library excels at providing resources and programs that enhance the lives of our patrons and broadens the horizons of our community. The Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library Foundation supports the library’s ability to serve our community with additional funding for the library.
This July, we are having our fourth annual Silent Book Auction fund-raiser sponsored by the Stow-Munroe Falls Library Foundation Board. We are asking you, as one of our most popular authors, to donate an autographed copy of a book to be auctioned during that event. It would be highlighted as a featured item, and previewed in advertising for the event.
We received many contributions from authors in the previous three years and these created very successful auctions. We sincerely believe that a contribution from you would greatly help us this year.
Would you please send an autographed copy of your book to:

I can not tell you how honored we would be to receive such a gift. Please accept our sincere thank you for helping us help the patrons of the Stow-Munroe Falls community.
Sincerely,

Love your books. Great plots and stories. But just a couple nitnoids on military accuracy. Only Navy personnel can become Seals, no marines. A US submarine is never referred to as a ship, it is always called a boat. The Navy has no Galaxy aircraft. They are all owned by the Air Force. Minor items they can bother an old retired military officer.
I have just finished reading HUNTER KILLER.
I was waiting in the emergency department of Calgary’s Foothills Hospital to see a Dr about swelling legs. I went in at around 2 p.m. and finally left at 10:30 p.m. after some tests but no results. I was scared. The place was full of street people, police, paramedics. I was left in a narrow corridor in one of those wonderful hospital gowns until I couldn’t take it any more.
I read all 453 pages of the hard cover edition during that time.
I was glad to have the book because it took me away from my circumstances.
I enjoyed the book and the thought of the events really happening brought intrigue to my reality.
I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. A very oil-rich place. The reserves of liquid oil and those in the tar sands are far greater than those of Saudi Arabia.
This irritated me to the point that I wrote BULL! in the column on page 318.
Other than that irritation, I enjoyed your work.

Have had on order a copy of ”To The Death” since September 2009 on asking where it had got to, I was told It was out of print. How can a book that was first published in 2008 be out of print??? I was looking forward to reading the final story in the ”Arnold Morgan” serie’s
I have just finished Barracuda 945….I would have thought that you were a right-wing republican rather than a Brit.As a former “Sea Spy” I can forgive your lack of knowledge and understanding of SOSUS.but somethings you should have gotten right with basic research. The station in south Wales is NavFac Brawdy ,about 15 miles from Haverfordwest. You can see the old building an go inside it’s a business park now.See if Mac down at the Duke in Newgale still has the Pool table he brought in for us Yanks. You can ask the Royal College of Heraldry to see the only crest approved by them for a military organization. How could you confuse a TU-22 Blinder with a TU-95 Bear? You can get that from Wikipedia.Know this,”THERE IS NO DEFENSE IN THE DEEP” and “In God We Trust all others We Track” http://photos.bravenet.com/774/301/397/854755A3B3.jpg. I used to work with men that were on HMS Sheffield when she was sunk and do not know if they survived. Your bio says you were a journalist,do you remember a BBC report from the deck of the Ark Royal in the late 70’s about a “Soviet Submarine surfacing off the coast of Ireland”…I could tell you why…Non sibi sed patriae

Dear Mr. Robinson,
I’ve read all of your books and really enjoyed them. Now I’m looking forward to your oncoming work “INTERCEPTOR”, for which Amazon (US) accept pre-orders (without saying when it will be released).
I’m in Italy and I’ve bought an Amazon’z Kindle just to take the advantage into having the books which I love into their original language as soon and as close to their real cost as possible (by cutting away the shipping costs which, through the Kindle’s “whispering” deliver, it falls down to an acceptable 2 US$).
My first question on INTERCEPTOR is: THERE WILL BE A KINDLE EDITION OF IT?
If the answer is NO, then the second one is: IS THIS A CHOICE OF YOUR PUBLISHER POLICY?
And finally, if the answer to my last question as above would eventually be a YES: WHY THAT POLICY?
Thanks in advance for a reply and, in any case, many congratulations for your writing.
Regards.
Roberto
I have often heard it said that to be a successful writer, write about what you know. Well, that may work most of the time. The book “Ghost Force” comes to mind. An interesting tale, no doubt. But how much better would it have been witout the term “Action Stations” on a US Navy ship (it’s a British term). When placing the C-4 charges on the A-4 Skyhawks, it would have been better if had you known that the A-4 is a SINGLE engined aircraft, and not a multi-engine strike platform. On a similar note, in the final chapter, he uses a “Super Cobra” helicopter to transport our heroes; the Cobra is only a 2-place gunship…
Plus, having the lead character in a “private cabin” in the mission helicopter, well, it just doesn’t exist. Finally, a full hour to place 4 blocks of composition C-4? ? ? Were the SEALS all crippled and in wheelchairs? I’m sure the Teams had a good chuckle over that.
Anyway, it was still a fun read, and yes, I will buy more.
